FC Nordljus is the most active club based in Kungsholmen. Founded in 2025. Competes in Division 7 Herrar and U19 Division 1. The community is international — players from Sweden, Uganda, Kenya, England, Poland, Ukraine, France, Chile, Turkey, and more. Training and communication in English and Swedish.

Pitches and venues near Kungsholmen

Åkeshov BP is the main pitch FC Nordljus uses. Located in Bromma, a short bus or bike ride from Kungsholmen. Full-size artificial turf pitch with floodlights. Public transport: bus 112 from Fridhemsplan, roughly 15 minutes.

Kristinebergs IP is a smaller pitch in the eastern part of Kungsholmen. Used by local clubs for training. Bookable through Stockholm stad.

Södermalm

Södermalm is one of Stockholm’s most popular areas. Large population, strong sports culture, and several good facilities.

Clubs and activity in Södermalm

Several Korpen teams operate out of Södermalm. Most recruit through Facebook groups or the Spelarbank. For competitive club football, players from Södermalm often commute slightly — the nearest Division 4 and above clubs train in Älvsjö, Hammarby, or Fruängen.

Eriksdals IP is the main outdoor facility. Located near Eriksdalslunden. Has a full-size pitch and smaller training areas. Several clubs train here.

Eriksdals Hallarna is the indoor version. Used extensively in winter for futsal and indoor league football. Korpen runs several indoor leagues from here.

Zinkensdamm IP is in the western part of Södermalm. Smaller pitch. Used for training and Korpen matches.

Vasastan

Vasastan is a quiet residential area north of the city centre. Families and professionals. Good access to public transport. The football scene is smaller here but active.

Vasastans IP on Tulegatan is the main local pitch. Used by several youth teams and recreational groups. Bookable through Stockholm stad. Open to the public when not reserved.

Clubs from Östermalm, Norrmalm, and Vasastan often share training facilities. If you live in Vasastan, your nearest active club might technically be registered under a neighbouring area.

Östermalm and Norrmalm

These areas are close enough to Kungsholmen, Vasastan, and the north of Stockholm that many players commute between them for training.

Djurgårdens IF has youth programs based in the Östermalm and Djurgården area. One of the most recognisable clubs in Swedish football. High competition for youth places.

Östermalms IP is a well-equipped facility used for training and matches. Several amateur clubs use it regularly.
